Dream beach, garbage, crocodiles and recording studio (EN)

I spent my last days on Little Andaman. A beautiful island with waterfalls, dream beaches, huge trees and many crocodiles. The crocodiles are actually a big topic, luckily you never get to see them, but you always see signs and warnings that make you feel queasy. On the way through the jungle, you are made aware right at the start of the path that you should watch out for crocodiles. You walk through a dense, deserted jungle and almost get paranoid, thinking that a crocodile could emerge from the bushes at any time.

Someone told me that he dangled his legs in the sea at a jetty, and locals came to warn him of the possible danger of a crocodile attack. When he became aware of this, he was shocked because he had been snorkeling around the jetty for the past few days. A diving instructor told me that during a dive he saw a crocodile from a distance, when he got back safely to his ship he could see the crocodile getting close to his boat. When asked how big these things were, I got the answer that they seem to be the largest in the world. I always thought that it was a smaller species with about 2 to 3 meters, but it is not. Here is an interesting link for those who are more interested in the saltwater crocodiles:

The last fatal crocodile accident on the Litte Andaman was in 2017. Unfortunately, a thirty-two-year-old fisherman was killed. On the one hand, there is a unique nature on Little Andaman, with special animals (besides the groin crocodiles there are also manatees there), on the other hand the inhabitants have to fight with the litter on the beach. Although the small island hardly produces garbage and there are more or less no tourists (there were only 7 travelers from abroad), there is a strip of garbage on the east coast. The beach is over 9 kilometers long and you can imagine how much crap you will find. You can see Red Bull bottles everywhere, although you can’t buy them on the island. Most of the garbage apparently comes from Thailand. I met Tom from Bavaria, he encouraged the residents to clean up the beach together every day. Somehow I was very impressed by his active attitude. I am not an environmental activist, but I want to show the dark side of this beautiful island too.

Finally to the music. I am currently in Port Blair and have played a few jam sessions at the Lalaji Hotel. I also heard that the Seth Island missionary lived there. Apparently he was a normal guy. I heard from the hostel operator that there seem to be several stories about this case. Was actually pretty interesting information. Maybe he got off on some island, like Robinson Crusoe. Who knows !? For everyone who listens to my music, there will probably be a third album because I recorded eight songs in Port Blair (the only recording studio on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands). This time Thomas also sang a few songs because he also wrote some of the lyrics. I would like to dedicate the album to him, because on the one hand he wrote a lot of lyrics for the songs and on the other hand I am always touched and impressed by his hard life story. After all the experiences in his young years, I am thrilled how positive, humorous and motivated he is towards life. I am also very grateful to him for animating me again and again for the music, even if there have been some intense moments. I have rarely met a person like him who is so enthusiastic about music, that’s something special. The album or EP is due to be released this year.
