After touring the world with LLTV I played some concerts in my homecountry Austria. At home I unfortunately heard that my keyboardist Christian Cermak could not attend my performances. So I had to find someone else quickly. However, I did not find any keyboarder spontaneously and therefore I asked my producer and multi-instrumentalist German Schwarz to play the keyboard for the upcoming concerts. German Schwarz changed his place as a drummer to the keyboard. Thus, Bernhard Schopper played the new songs of my „Dream Awake Album“ on the Cajon.

The first gig was at Volksheim Traun. There I organized a live concert in combination with a travel lecture for the first time. I presented my experiences of my street world tour with videos and pictures. It was not too easy for me to tell travel stories, use the technology (computer) and then present my new songs from my Dream Awake album live with vocals and guitar.

I was particularly pleased that some friends, family and fans took time for my presentation. A highlight were Ashley and Thomas, who came from Birmingham/England to see the concerts in Traun and Kitzbühel live. I also was very pleasantly surprised that Manuel’s student from the BRG Traun 7a stopped by.

Afterwards we drove on to Kitzbühel to my home club „El Dorado“. Homeclub because I have performed there many times with my Ashram Bandmates in the past. At this concert in Kitzbühel, I felt a great deal of anticipation, knowing that my former students would come from the BG St. Johann and the HAK Kitzbühel (Info: I taught the last years as a teacher at these two schools and also worked as juniors Curling coach in the Bundesleistungszentrum in Kitzbühel). Laurin, Simon and Samuel have kindly advertised and announced my concert on the Social Media.

The concert was well attended and my students, friends and fans made a great atmosphere. Songs like „I’m free“, „Rock the show“ or „Ready for you“ were sung together in the choir. That was a special moment for me at my school concert at the BG / BORG St. Johann last year, when the pupils and the young people sang all my songs together and this time, of course, it was the same again. At the performance in Kitzbühel I had a „special guest“ with Arman M. (Instagram: „arman_m_music“). He perfectly accompanied all my songs with his guitar. He is only fifteen years old and is already studying music and guitar at the Innsbruck Conservatory. He has a great talent and I am very sure he has a great future as a musician too.

Then we went on to Vorarlberg where two very special concerts were played in Feldkirch and Dornbirn, two different prison institutions in one day. However, these two gigs behind „swedish curtains“ were not too special to me as we (my former bandmates from Ashram and Fur Balloon and me) have already played at Jusitzvollzugsanstalten many times. At that time, in addition to many concerts in Germany and Austria, we also rocked once in an Indian prison. This time it was a bit different than usual, as I played for the first time more or less alone with my guitar in front of the prisoners – not all alone, German played the cajon. I mainly presented my new songs from my second album „Dream Awake“ and also told about my travel experiences as a street musician around the world. After the gig, as usual, there were short talks with the prisoners. These conversations with the prisoners often make me think. Especially during the longer trip in the car, we usually discuss the stories or fates of the prisoners and also about the general process of a human life, in this diverse world.

At the end of this little concert tour through Austria, I had a spontaneous concert in Freistadt. I also presented my new „Dream Awake“ songs in the cult pub „Sailor’s Bar“. Special thanks to Romana!

With these concerts and also with this blog post I would like to end my Dream Awake Tour. Right now I’m already working on new songs of a possibly third album. My second album will be released digitally on 01.08.2019. There will be a livestream for this, as I will present all my songs with my band. Time and platform of my “online concert” will be announced soon.

Many thanks to all who accompanied and supported me on the Dream Awake Tour over the past months! Let’s see what the year 2020 will bring.

Nachdem meine Reise in Begleitung mit LLTV endete und ich wieder in Österreich war, standen einige Konzerte im eigenen Land an. Zuhause erfuhr ich, dass mein Keyboarder Christian Cermak leider bei meinen Auftritten nicht teilnehmen kann und ich musste mir schnell Ersatz suchen. Jedoch habe ich keinen Keyboarder spontan gefunden und habe daher meinen Produzenten und Multiinstrumentalist German Schwarz gebeten für die anstehenden Konzerte in die Tasten zu hauen. Somit wechselte German Schwarz seinen Platz als vorgesehener Schlagzeuger auf´s Keyboard. Bernhard Schopper nahm sich kurzfristig Zeit und hat auf der Cajon die neuen „Dream Awake Songs“ begleitet.

Der erste Gig war im Volksheim Traun. Dort veranstaltete ich zum ersten Mal ein Live-Konzert in Kombination mit einem Reisevortrag bzw. habe meine Erlebnisse von meiner Straßenwelttour mittels Videos und Bilder präsentiert. Es war nicht ganz einfach für mich, Reisegeschichten zu erzählen, die Technik (Computer) zu bedienen und dann noch die neuen Songs meines Dream Awake Albums live mit Gesang und Gitarre vorzustellen.

Besonders hat mich gefreut, dass sich einige Freunde, Familie und Fans für meine Präsentation Zeit genommen haben. Ein Highlight waren Ashley und Thomas, welche extra aus Birmingham/England angereist sind, um die Konzerte in Traun und Kitzbühel live zu sehen. Auch war über den Besuch von Manuel´s Schüler vom BRG Traun 7a sehr positiv überrascht.

Dann ging´s weiter nach Kitzbühel zu meinem Stammclub „El Dorado“. Stammclub deshalb, da ich dort bereits viele Male mit meinen Bandmates von Ashram in der Vergangenheit aufgetreten bin. Bei diesem Konzert in Kitzbühel verspürte ich allerdings eine große Vorfreude, da sich einige ehemalige Schüler vom BG St. Johann und der HAK Kitzbühel angekündigt haben (Info: ich habe an diesen beiden Schulen die letzten Jahre als Lehrer unterrichtet und ebenso als Junioren Curlingcoach im Bundesleistungszentrum in Kitzbühel gearbeitet).

Laurin, Simon und Samuel haben netterweise im Vorfeld, sowie im letzten Jahr, beim Schulabschlusskonzert, die Werbetrommel gerührt und meine Konzertveranstaltung auf den Social Medias und mit den Plakaten groß angekündigt.

Das Konzert war gut besucht und meine Schüler, Freunde, Fans haben für eine echt tolle Stimmung gesorgt. Dabei wurden Lieder wie „I´m free“, „Rock the show“ oder „Ready for you“ gemeinsam im Chor gesungen. Das war schon letztes Jahr bei meinem Schulabschlusskonzert am BG/BORG St. Johann ein besonderer Moment für mich, als die SchülerInnen bzw. die Jugendlichen all meine Songs mitgesungen haben und dieses Mal war es wieder so.

Beim Auftritt in Kitzbühel hatte ich mit Arman M. (auf Instagram unter „arman_m_music“ zu finden) einen „Special Guest“ am Start. Er begleitete perfekt mit seiner Gitarre all meine Songs. Er ist erst fünfzehn Jahre alt und studiert bereits Musik und Gitarre am Konservatorium Innsbruck. Er hat ein sehr großes Talent und ich bin mir sehr sicher, dass ihm eine große Zukunft als Musiker bevor steht.

Dann ging´s weiter nach Vorarlberg wo zwei sehr spezielle Konzerte in Feldkirch und Dornbirn anstanden. Es waren zwei Auftritte an einem Tag in zwei verschiedenen Gefängnisanstalten. Allerdings waren diese beiden Gigs hinter den „Schwedischen Gardinen“ keine Besonderheit für mich, da wir (meine ehemaligen Bandmusiker von Ashram und Fur Balloon) bereits schon sehr oft in Jusitzvollzugsanstalten gespielt haben. Jedoch war es diesmal etwas anders als sonst, da ich erstmals mehr oder weniger alleine mit meiner Gitarre vor den Gefangenen gespielt habe – dankenswerterweise nicht ganz alleine, da German mich auf der Cajon begleitet hat. Dabei habe ich hauptsächlich meine neuen Songs meines zweiten Albums „Dream Awake“ präsentiert und ebenso von meinen Reiseerlebnissen als Straßenmusiker um die Welt erzählt. Nach den Gigs kam es wie gewohnt zu kurzen Gesprächen mit den Gefangenen. Diese Konversationen mit den Strafgefangenen regen mich oft zum Nachdenken an. Gerade bei der längeren Rückfahrt diskutiert man dann meistens über die Geschichten oder Schicksale Einzelner und ebenso über den allgemeinen Prozess eines Menschenlebens, in dieser vielfältigen Welt.

Zum Abschluss dieser kleinen Konzerttour durch Österreich, ergab sich ein spontanes Konzert in Freistadt. Dabei habe ich ebenso meine neuen „Dream Awake Lieder“ im engeren Rahmen im Kultladen „Sailor’s Bar“ präsentiert. Vielen Dank an Romana!

Mit diesen Konzerten und auch mit diesem Abschluss-Blog möchte ich meine Dream Awake Tour beenden. Momentan arbeite ich bereits an neuen Songs eines eventuell dritten Albums. Mein zweites Album mit allen neun Songs wird am 01.08.2019 digital released. Dazu wird es einen Livestream geben, indem ich mit Band alle meine Lieder präsentieren werde. Zeit und Plattform zum „Online Konzert“ werden demnächst bekannt gegeben.

Herzlichen Dank nochmal an alle die mich auf der Dream Awake Tour über die letzten Monate begleitet und unterstützt haben! Mal sehen, was das Jahr 2020 bringen wird.

EN My visit to the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris was my last stop on the Dream Awake Tour before returning to Austria. Père Lachaise is one of the most popular cemeteries in Europe. I met a woman who showed me the way to Jim Morrison’s tomb, and she told me some interesting details about the cemetery. There were a few flowers, pictures of him, and a still-burning cigarette on the tombstone. I had a beer on the metaphysical level with Jim drinking a beer and celebrated my Dream Awake Tour in peace. I am blessed to have finished my Dream Awake Tour at this special and spiritual place.

DE Der letzte Stop auf meiner Dream Awake Tour, bevor ich nach Österreich zurückkehre, ist der berühmte Friedhof Père Lachaise in Paris. Ich treffe eine Frau, die mir den Weg zu Jim Morrisons etwas abgelegenen Grab zeigt und mir einige interessante Details über den Friedhof erzählt. An Jims Grab liegen ein paar frische Blumen, Bilder von ihm und eine noch brennende Zigarette. Auf einer metaphysischen Ebene stoße ich mit Jim mit einem Bier an und feiere den Abschluss meiner Dream Awake Tour an diesem besonderen und spirituellen Ort.

My visit to the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris was my last stop on the Dream Awake Tour before returning to Austria. Père Lachaise is one of the most popular cemeteries in Europe. I met a woman who showed me the way to Jim Morrison’s tomb, and she told me some interesting details about the cemetery, including that it covers about sixty football fields and about 300,000 bodies are buried there. In addition to Jim Morrison some other famous people are buried there, such as Oscar Wilde, Frederic Chopin or Edith Piaf, etc.

Mystical mood on the cemetery

At eight o’clock in the morning the cemetery opened and I passed by the many grave monuments with this nice lady. The birds twittered, the sun shone through the deciduous trees, and yet there was a special silence. A cemetery is a spiritual place that emits a certain mysticism and therefore I was put in a special mood.

For a long time it had been on my list once to visit the place where Jim Morrison is buried. In the VLog No. 14 | Paris | I say that this visit was not scheduled on the Dream Awake Tour because I had no return flight from Mexico. In my youth I was not really a big fan of The Doors, although I knew a lot of their songs. Only with time did I develop more sympathy for the spirit of the time and especially for the lyrics of Jim Morrison. One of my „Favorite Songs“ is next to the cult anthem „The End“ also „Riders On The Storm“, which I played spontaneously at the grave of Jim as a tribute to the rock legend who unfortunately died too early (see VLog No. 14 | Paris ).

The grave is offside. Hard to find without help. There were a few flowers, pictures of him, and also a still-burning cigarette on the tombstone. I had a beer on the metaphysical level with him drinking a beer and celebrated my Dream Awake Tour in peace.

Some facts about Jim Morrisons death and grave – facts?…

In the summer of 1971, one of the most dazzling figures of the classic rock era died in Paris. However, the death of the Doors singer is still puzzling – the statements are contradictory, but there are some witnesses who brought some light into the matter to the sudden and mysterious death on 03 July 1971. Despite his great success with the „Doors“ only about $ 200 dollars was spent on the funeral. The coffin was the cheapest that the Paris cemetery ever had. There was no priest present when the coffin was lowered into the tomb. Only five people attended the funeral. Since, in spite of today’s many tourists, no one took care in time to extend the rent, the question of the removal of Morrison’s tomb of Père Lachaise in the summer of 2001 became the main topic. Fortunately, Morrison’s family was able to negotiate the situation with the Père Lachaise administration so the lease was renewed. At the grave stone I noticed the Greek inscription: KATA TON DAIMONA EAYTOY (Translation: „According to his own spirit“, „According to his own demon“, „faithful to his spirit“ or „He created his own demons“, etc.). In my search for a suitable translation of these words, I came across several interpretations. During my translation attempt on google translate, the following words came out: „On the difference of everyone“. Unfortunately there is no online translator for Ancient Greek. Once again it is confirmed how difficult it is to translate a language analogously without losing the content of the actual statement.

Jim Morrison was not only a frontman and singer of the Doors, he was creative in the fields of literature and film too.

Since people exist, they can remember words and word combinations. Nothing can survive a holocaust except poems and songs. Nobody can remember a whole novel. Nobody can describe a film, a sculpture, a painting. But as long as there are people, songs and poems can live on.

Jim said that the particular strength of poetry is its durability. For me, Jim Morrison is a phenomenon even his artistic life was very short. He was one of the first in the „Club 27“, a trademark of great artists. However, I find it very sad that his work did not last longer. He would surely have left more great works.

Mein Besuch des Friedhofs Père Lachaise in Paris war meine letzte Station der Dream Awake Tour, bevor es zurück nach Österreich ging. Père Lachaise ist einer der beliebtesten Friedhöfe in Europa. Ich habe eine Frau getroffen die mir den Weg zur Grabstätte von Jim Morrison zeigte, dabei erzählte sie mir einige interessante Details über den bekannten Friedhof, unter anderem, dass seine Fläche etwa sechzig Fußballfeldern entspricht und ungefähr 300.000 Leichen dort begraben liegen. Neben Jim Morrison sind einige weitere berühmte Persönlichkeiten dort bestattet, wie zum Beispiel Oscar Wilde, Frederic Chopin oder Edith Piaf uvm.

Mystische Stimmung am Friedhof

Um acht Uhr morgens sperrte der Friedhof auf und ich ging gemeinsam mit dieser netten Dame bei den vielen Grabmonumenten vorbei. Es zwitscherten die Vögel, die Sonne strahlte zwischen den Laubbäumen hindurch und trotzdem herrschte eine besondere Stille. Ein Friedhof ist spiritueller Ort, der eine gewisse Mystik aussendet und daher wurde ich in eine besondere Stimmung versetzt.

Seit langer Zeit stand es auf meiner Liste einmal den Ort, wo Jim Morrison begraben liegt, zu besuchen. Wie ich im VLog Nr. 14 | Paris | erwähne war dieser Besuch nicht bei der Dream Awake Tour eingeplant, da ich den Rückflug von Mexiko offen ließ.
In meiner Jugend war ich nicht wirklich ein großer Fan von „The Doors“, obwohl ich viele Songs von ihnen kannte. Erst mit der Zeit entwickelte ich mehr Sympathie für den Spirit der damaligen Zeit und speziell für die Lyrics von Jim Morrison. Einer meiner „Favorite Songs“ ist neben der Kulthymne „The End“ auch „Riders On The Storm“, welchen ich spontan beim Grab von Jim als Tribut für die leider viel zu früh verstorbene Rocklegende gespielt habe (siehe VLog No. 14 | Paris).

Das Grab ist etwas abseits des Weges und ohne Hilfe schwer zu finden. Es waren einige Blumen, Bilder von ihm und ebenso eine noch brennende Zigarette auf dem Grabstein zu finden. Ich habe ein kleines Bier mitgenommen und auf der metaphysischen Ebene mit ihm angestoßen und meine Dream Awake Tour in Ruhe gefeiert.

Fakten über Jim Morrisons Grab und Tod – oder doch nicht?..

Im Sommer 1971 starb in Paris eine der schillerndsten Figuren der klassischen Rock-Ära. Doch der Tod des Doors-Sängers gibt bis heute Rätsel auf – die Aussagen sind widersprüchlich, allerdings gibt (gab) es einige Zeugen die etwas Licht in die Angelegenheit zum plötzlichen und mysteriösen Tod am 03. Trotz seiner großen Erfolge mit den „Doors“ wurde für die Bestattung nur rund $200 Dollar ausgegeben. Der Kiefersarg war der billigste den der Pariser Friedhof überhaupt zur Verfügung hatte. Es war kein Geistlicher anwesend, als man den Sarg in das Grab senkte. Nur fünf Leute nahmen bei der Beerdigung und seinem Abschied teil. Dafür pilgern heute umso mehr zu seinem Grab (anscheinend eine der Top- Sehenswürdigkeiten von Paris).

Da sich trotz der vielen Besucher niemand rechtzeitig darum gekümmert hat, die Miete zu verlängern, wurde die Frage über die Entfernung der Morrison’s Grabstätte von Père Lachaise im Sommer 2001 Hauptthema. Zum Glück konnte Morrisons Familie die Situation mit der Père Lachaise-Administration verhandeln und die Miete wurde zur Erleichterung aller verlängert. Am Grabstein ist mir die griechische Inschrift aufgefallen: KATA TON DAIMONA EAYTOY (Deutsch: „Gemäß seinem eigenen Geist“, „Seinem eigenen Dämon entsprechend“, „Seinem Geiste treu“ oder „Er schuf seine eigenen Dämonen“ usw.). Bei meiner Suche nach einer geeigneten Übersetzung dieser Worte, stieß ich auf mehrere Auslegungen. Bei meinem Übersetzungsversuch auf google translate, kamen folgende Worte raus: „Auf den Unterschied von jedem“. Leider gibt es keinen online Übersetzer für Altgriechisch. Somit bestätigt sich wieder einmal wie schwierig es ist, eine Sprache sinngemäß zu übersetzen, ohne dass der inhaltliche Gehalt der eigentlichen Aussage (die Message) dabei verloren geht.

Jim Morrison war nicht nur Frontman und Sänger der Doors, sondern er entfaltete seine Kreativität ebenso in der Literatur und in filmischen Arbeiten, auch wenn diese vielleicht weniger Beachtung fanden als seine Musik.

Seit es Menschen gibt, können sie sich Wörter und Wortkombinationen merken. Nichts kann einen Holocaust überleben außer Gedichten und Liedern. Keiner kann sich einen ganzen Roman merken. Niemand kann einen Film, eine Skulptur, ein Gemälde beschreiben. Aber solange es Menschen gibt, können Lieder und Gedichte weiterleben.

Jim gab von sich, dass die besondere Stärke der Poesie ist in der Dauerhaftigkeit begründet liegt. Für mich ist Jim Morrison ein Phänomen, da seine künstlerische Schaffenszeit zwar sehr kurz war, dennoch von bleibendem Wert ist. Er war einer der ersten im sogenannten „Club 27“, ein Markenzeichen großer Künstler. Jedoch finde ich es sehr schade, dass sein Wirken nicht länger dauerte. Er hätte sicher noch weitere großartige Werke hinterlassen.

EN In my VLog No. 12 I show the MonkeyBee studios in Mexico City. There I met Jasmina Hirschl, she moved to Mexico a few years ago, is married with studio technician Miguel and recently founded her own music label „MonkeyBee Records“. Jasmina plays in several bands, manage concerts, festivals and has a recording studio too. I visited her studio and was really excited about the recording atmosphere and her unusual pet.

DE In diesem VLog Nr. 12 zeige ich die MonkeyBee Studios in Mexiko City. Ich treffe mich mit Jasmina Hirschl, einer Oberösterreicherin, die vor einigen Jahren nach Mexiko ausgewandert ist und dort das Label „MonkeyBee Records“ gegründet hat. Sie ist im Musikbusiness tätig und betreibt mit ihrem Mann Miguel ein eigenes Aufnahme Studio. Dort habe ich einige Songs eingespielt und ich durfte ihr ungewöhnliches Haustier kennenlernen.

After my time in Hawaii, I traveled to Mexico City, because I wanted to get to know the vibrant city and the music scene a little closer. There I watched a concert of some Mexican bands, like the group „Los Honey Rockets“. I also met Jasmina Hirschl, she plays keyboard in the band „Los Honey Rockets“ and I have to say that she does a very good job. I really liked the raw sound of the punk rock band, full of energy and very punchy. It was a perfect gig and it was nice to have a beer with the musicians afterwards and dive into the Mexican rock scene.

Mexico City is alive, and can sometimes be weird…

In Mexico City you can see a lot of police and military and in front of any better business there is a security with a pump gun. A motorcyclist with a dark helmet visor just stopped in front of me, so I thought that now probably pulls out a gun and wants money from me.
When I was playing with my guitar, I saw a policewoman and a police officer walking in the street, hand in hand with their uniforms (including their guns).
Or, for example, the hostel owner cheated me about 200, – pesos and when I demanded the money back from her, she started with other fees I would have to pay, which were not agreed in advance. When I said that she should keep the money, she suddenly started to cry and she felt sorry that she betrayed me. She came very close and sat howling to me and finally I had to comfort her, that was all right and she did not do anything bad, but the 200, – Peso I did not get back.

The hostel in Mexico City was very strange, as I was the only guest at the beginning and so I lived alone in the big house. Even the front desk was not occupied, but the hotel lady has previously announced that I should not let anyone into the house. In the evening, people still knocked on the door which wanted to go into the house, it was a very extraordinary place and honestly I did not sleep well that evening.
The next day the hotel was stormed and all beds were full. That day, a guy wanted to teach me something important, but he could not speak a word of English and was always talking in Spanish to me and I told him that I did not understand what he wanted. Then he showed me with the help of Google translate on his mobile phone display the following text: „Can you do oral sex? I give you 300, – Peso „(300, – Mexican Peso correspond to about 14.50 – €). I thankfully rejected his offer and told him on google translate that he should ask someone else better. Almost all Mexicans have a cross around. On the street, a person gave me a Bible paper and asked me if I would like to come to church with him. The Christian religion is omnipresent in Mexico, even at the airport of Mexico City a woman has already given me a book of Jesus. These are just a few of my impressions of Mexico City.

Monkey Bee Records

Jasmina moved to Mexico a few years ago, is married to the Mexican Miguel and recently founded her own music label „MonkeyBee Records“. As already mentioned, she plays in several bands, organizes music concerts, festivals and operates a recording studio. I visited her studio and was really excited about the recording atmosphere.

We also did the interview for LLTV that day (see VLog # 12) and I thought in our talks that Jasmina has a very exciting and idiosyncratic life. I thought it would take a bit of courage and flexibility to move to Mexico and get involved in the music business. At this point I would like to express her great respect for what she does. We have known each other fleetingly for many years, but her (our) friend Marina pointed out to me when she heard about my Dream Awake Tour.

The MonkeyBee Studios also have a slightly unusual pet. No, it’s not a monkey or a bee and certainly not a „monkey bee“, it’s a little piggy. Jasmina has told me some interesting information about the behavior of the pig. Jasmina and Miguel have said that the pig brings luck and I wish them both for their future and for all their creative projects luck too! My journey continues and I will head back to Europe. I will stay in London and Paris for the last few weeks of my Dream Awake Tour.

Nach meiner Zeit auf Hawaii bin ich nach Mexiko City weitergereist, da ich die lebendige Stadt und deren Musikszene etwas näher kennen lernen wollte. Dort habe ich mir ein Konzert von einigen mexikanischen Bands, wie unter anderem von der Gruppe „Los Honey Rockets“, angesehen. Ebenso habe ich Jasmina Hirschl getroffen, sie ist Österreicherin und lebt in Mexiko City, spielt Keyboard in der Band „Los Honey Rockets“ und ich muss sagen, dass sie das sehr gut macht. Der rohe Sound der Punkrockband hat mir total gefallen, voller Energie und sehr druckvoll. Es war ein perfekter Gig und es war nett mit den Musikern nachher ein Bier zu trinken und in die mexikanische Rockszene etwas einzutauchen.

Mexiko City lebt und kann dabei äußerst bizarr sein…

In Mexiko City sieht man sehr viel Polizei und Militär und vor jedem besseren Geschäft steht ein Security mit einer Schrotflinte. Ein Motorradfahrer mit dunklem Helmvisier ist einfach vor mir stehen geblieben, da dachte ich, dass dieser nun wahrscheinlich eine Pistole rauszieht und Geld von mir will.
Als ich mit meiner Gitarre gespielt habe, sah ich eine Polizistin und einen Polizisten die Hand in Hand mit ihrer Uniform (inkl. deren Pistolen) auf der Straße spaziert sind.
Oder zum Beispiel hat mich die Hostel- Besitzerin um 200,- Peso ums Ohr gehauen und als ich das Geld von ihr zurück forderte, hat sie mit weiteren Gebühren angefangen die ich bezahlen müsste, die allerdings im Vorfeld nicht vereinbart waren. Als ich gesagt habe, dass sie nun das Geld behalten soll, hat sie plötzlich zu weinen begonnen und es hat ihr leid getan, dass sie mich betrogen hat. Sie kam sehr nahe und setzte sich heulend zu mir und schlussendlich musste ich sie trösten, dass das schon in Ordnung gewesen sei und sie nichts Böses getan hat, allerdings die 200,- Peso habe ich nicht zurückbekommen.

Das Hostel in Mexiko City war sehr seltsam, da ich zum Beispiel zu Beginn der einzige Gast gewesen war und ich somit alleine in dem großen Haus wohnte. Selbst die Rezeption war nicht besetzt, allerdings hat mir die Hotelvermieterin zuvor bekannt gegeben, dass ich niemand ins Haus lassen sollte. Am Abend klopften dann trotzdem Leute an der Tür welche ins Haus wollten, es war ein sehr außergewöhnlicher Ort und ehrlich gesagt hatte ich an diesem Abend keinen ruhigen Schlaf. Am nächsten Tag wurde dann das Hotel gestürmt und alle Betten waren komplett belegt. An diesem Tag wollte mir ein Typ etwas wichtiges vermitteln, allerdings konnte er kein Wort Englisch und redete ständig in spanisch zu mir und ich sagte ihm, dass ich nicht verstehe was er will. Daraufhin zeigte er mir mit Hilfe von Google translate auf seinem Handydisplay folgenden Text: „Can you do Oralsex? I give you 300,- Peso“ (300,- mexikanische Peso entsprechen circa 14,50 – €). Ich habe sein Angebot dankend abgelehnt und ihm auf google translate vermittelt, dass er jemanden anderen in dieser Angelegenheit besser fragen sollte. Was mir noch aufgefallen ist, dass fast alle Mexikaner ein Kreuz umgehängt haben. Auf der Straße hat mir eine Person einen Bibel- Zettel geben und mich gefragt, ob ich nicht etwa mit in die Kirche kommen wolle. Die christliche Religion ist in Mexiko allgegenwärtig, sogar am Flughafen von Mexiko City hat mir bereits eine Frau eine Jesus- Broschüre gegeben. Das sind nur ein paar von meinen Eindrücken von Mexiko City.

MonkeyBee Records

Jasmina ist vor einigen Jahren nach Mexiko übersiedelt, ist mit dem Mexikaner Miguel verheiratet und hat vor kurzem ein eigenes Musiklabel „MonkeyBee Records“ gegründet. Wie bereits erwähnt spielt sie in einigen Bands, organisiert Musikkonzerte, Festivals und betreibt ein Tonstudio. Ich habe ihr Studio besucht und war von der Recordingatmosphäre wirklich begeistert.

Wir haben an diesem Tag ebenso das Interview für LLTV durchgeführt (siehe VLog Nr. 12) und ich dachte mir bei unseren Gesprächen, dass Jasmina ein sehr spannendes und eigenwilliges Leben hat. Ebenso dachte ich mir, dass da schon eine Portion Mut und Flexibilität dazu gehört, einfach in Mexiko auszusteigen und sich im Musikbusiness zu verwirklichen. An dieser Stelle möchte ich ihr großen Respekt aussprechen, was sie so macht und bis jetzt auf die Reihe bekommen hat. Wir kennen uns flüchtig seit vielen Jahren, allerdings hat mich ihre (unsere) Freundin Marina darauf aufmerksam gemacht, als sie von meiner Dream Awake Reiseroute erfahren hat.

In den MonkeyBee Studios gibt es ebenso ein etwas ungewöhnliches Haustier. Nein, es ist kein Affe oder eine Biene und schon gar keine „Affen-Biene“, es ist ein kleines Schweinchen. Jasmina hat mir einige interessante Informationen vom Verhalten des Schweinchens erzählt. Jasmina und Miguel haben gemeint, dass das Schweinchen Glück bringt und das wünsche ich den Beiden auch für deren Zukunft und für all ihre kreativen Projekte! Meine Reise geht weiter und ich reise wieder zurück nach Europa. In London und Paris werde ich die letzten Wochen der Dream Awake Tour ausklingen lassen.

It is one of the tracks of my second album Dream Awake. The song is dedicated to the freedom activists of the Hawaiians and the Micronesian immigrants (for more details read my recent Blog about Hawaii). When I composed this song, I was inspired by Giulia Phyra. The complete album will be available in the summer of 2019.
